I had a chance to see Guy Davis some time ago in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Really enjoyed the show, so I went and picked up Skunkmello. Great
album! And, like others, I must admit Hooking Bull at the Landing is one of my favorite. Great work! Your style and musicianship is wonderful.

I had been aware of
your music for years but finally was able to come
hear you. As a kid, the 1st music that struck me as
most pure, causing me to sell all my rock albums,
was the acoustic blues. To this day, nothing has
overwhelmed me as much as hearing Blind Blake for
the first time on those Biography LP's, bought at
Discount Records in Eastchester. Remember this
store-near Lord and Taylor? It is America's purest
and most original musical art form and you are to be
commended for keeping the tradition alive and
keeping it alive with expertise and feeling and
commitment.

Hello Guy !
I caught your show at Bearley's House of Blues in
Halifax on Friday night, March 23rd, and
enjoyed it very much, as usual. I think you you saw
that everyone attending really enjoyed your music,
as well as the stories they all tell. I've been very
fortunate in seeing you 3 times now. I know that you
only make it down our way once a year, so next you come to
Halifax, I'd be more than happy to take you
on a little tour of our metro area, so you could
appreciate some of our beautiful scenery and
East Coast hospitality. I'll leave that up to
you, but now that I'll be on your e-mail list, I'll
know when your next visit is to our beautiful Province of Nova Scotia.
I recently noticed in our local newspaper that
you did a one-man-play,
"In Bed With The Blues: The Adventures Of Fishy
Waters" in
Truro, N.S. I would think that it would go over big-time, in the
Halifax
Dartmouth Area.
All the best, Guy, and keep those blues alive with
your superb music
and story-telling.

he will be coming back to Australia.

I was so surprised and honored to see Guy Davis
at the African American Cultural Center in Ft. Lauderdale. I was
surprised that so few African
Americans showed up, but honored to be among the few
who did. I loved
the show, especially his performance of Chocolate
Man and was sorry
that I didn't stick around to get a taste of that
while I could. Thanks
for a great time and I will send the article and
picture.

I just had the pleasure of once again seeing Guy in concert in Lake Charles, La as part of the McNeese Banners Series. Fantastic
show!! As a long time Blues fan, I really want to thank Mr. Davis for keeping the traditions of the
blues alive and well!!
I had a chance to meet Mr. Davis about 10 years ago when he
came into the guitar store I worked at in Boulder , Colorado. He was a true gentleman
in the best tradition, sense, and definition of the
word. Please on to Mr. Davis my thanks for keeping
the blues alive, and for spreading the knowledge of
the blues to the younger generations.April 21,
2007
All the best to you

It's a few days after the fact, but i thought I'd drop a line anyways. I went to see Guy at the Marigold Cultural Centre in Truro, NS on March
31st. He was performing his one man play "In Bed With The Blues, The Adventures Of Fishy Waters". Now I will admit when I found out that he was
doing this one man play instead of a 'regular' concert I was a bit miffed (I hear play I think snore =p) but I told myself that it was Guy
Davis after all and whatever he does -has- to be good.
I was super lucky to be able to get second row centre, and my good friend Chris came along. I didn't know it was his first concert until we
got there, which kind of beats my first concert which was Anne Murray =D. I was absolutely blown away and any doubts I had were gone in the first
30 seconds. He played some songs I thought I wouldn't hear because it wasn't a regular concert, which made me super happy, and his presence
and storytelling ability is superb. It was well worth the time I waited to see him perform. I even managed to hold it together long enough to get my Legacy cd
autographed after the show =) and a hug!
My only regret is that I didn't get to hear "High Flying Rocket"!
Can't wait to see you again Guy! Blues isn't just for white boys to listen to, its for white girls too!
Love, The Aggressive Clapper,
Carrie

Guy, thanks for
playing Old Town - stopping by to do those numbers.
I'll see if can catch you around that area again.
Everyone appreciated it,
and it was an interesting night for sure - Mark
Dvorak is a friend of
mine, i don't know if you talked to him - he's also
a blues/folk
enthusiast, with a pretty deep knowledge of lots of
old traditions.

Saw Guy in MT. Holly NJ about a month ago. Great show. I was drunk...as I am wont to be. Caught a lyric that I LOVED, but don't remember the
song, and I have been listening to a bunch of his songs, looking for that line. It went something like "one half said hide, one half said run, if I'd had my pistol, i'd a done niether one." Can anyone tell me what song that's from??

Thanks from all the diehard blues fans in
Lockeport, NS
for the
incredible performance at the Osprey Arts Center in
Shelburne on Sunday night. How fortunate we were to
see an artist of your caliber in such a small venue.
Please return to this area again.

Mr. Davis I seen you years ago for the first
time in
Annapolis, Nova Scotia Canada. I was amazed
at your talent then, and have followed your music
ever since..I have a great passion for the blues and
have listened to many of the greats. You are the
only artist that brings their same passion to
the public. We are all so fortunate that you haven't
forgotten the history and continue to bring the
"real blues"to all of us no matter how small the
community. Simply amazing ! I'm looking forward to
seeing your performance again tonight in Little
Brook,
Clare, Nova
Scotia! :)

else, man. So, I really hope you come visit sometime
an perform in my country, where you will find lots of
blues fans.

I was checking Guy's itinerary to see if he'd be
within driving
distance any time soon and was thrilled to see that
he'll be in
Chicago on 4/7/07. That's just a couple
of hours away for me, so I immediately bought my
ticket.I was lucky enough to spend some time with
Guy when he visited WI last year; once in Madison,
and once in
Wisconsin Rapids...the latter included Roth
Patterson on guitar. We visited a local guitar
store, had a
meal together, he listened to some of my music -
both on CD and I played some for him and Roth which
they enjoyed - and I gave him a bottle of wine to
thank him for all the joy his music has
brought me. I believe he may still have one of
my business cards.

chance to be exposed to mr. davis' storytelling
through music. They were so excited by him and
I enjoyed

I just saw on Guy's
web site that he's at the Old Town School of Folk
Music in April and I already had tickets! I can't
believe it. I was a student of Guy's last September
at the Fur Peace Ranch. Will be great to see him
again. He had such an impact on my guitar playing
that I only wish I could introduce him to my wife
who will be with me that night. Doubtful he'll get
this email but if you see or talk to him tell him I
said HI! and that I can't wait until April...

Hi,
I was incredibly touched by an audio clip played
on NPR's World Cafe Feb. 22. Guy talked about
how musicians touch people's souls through music.
Where can I find the clip, or a transcript of that
interview?
Thank you, Oriana

Saw the itinerary and noticed that you are
coming up to Northern Cali this summer, wondering if
you might make a stop by the wonderful city of
Seattle for a visit. Saw you last in
Colorado last year and my girlfriend and I
have moved to the PAC NW. I saw you here years
ago at the Sunset Tavern in Ballard. Be great
to have a sequel.

I had a blessed pleasure to see Mr. Davis on
February 11, 2007 at the Hartford Public Library.
His performance is ELECTRIFYING!!! He performed as
if his life depended on it. I could not hold my
peace. I had to look around to see if I
was the only one in the event. The room was
too quite for his
performance. He performs as if there are twenty
people on the stage with him. Certainly an
inspiration to a life time dreamer like me. God
Speed Mr. Davis, I cannot wait to hear you again.

A GREAT show in Hallowell last night, Mr. Davis!
Wow! Thank you so
much for
coming to
Maine. From the moment you started
singing, I couldn't stop
smiling,
and went home with "grin-ache". "Joppatown"
and "Loneliest Road That I
Know"
were fantastic, as was the entire show. Thanks
again. Hope to see you
again in
VT in a couple weeks.

Feb 13,
Kennebunk, Maine - The best things stick with
you. You know that life is good when the
welcome taste of a good wine lingers in your mouth
and the house still smells delicious the day after
you've cooked a savory meal and the conversation
brings you a smile long after the company is gone..
Another way life can be very good is when the sounds
of Guy are still rollin' around the head this many
days later. Like Brain Radio tuned into the Davis
station. How do you do that harmonica thing,
and how do you see so deeply and know a human so
lightning fast? You take a room crammed with
people and bring them to their feet as if they were
one. Maybe now they are...glued together from
the inside by your songs. Love that sweet
plunky banjo! When are you coming back? G-d bless
and keep you

Hi Guy, Just want to say once again thank you
for visiting the Hartford Public Library and giving
us a wonderful concert. There is something that is
nostalgically romantic about your music and
storytelling. Your genuine spirit and love of
your music was evident. I am very glad I met
you.
Hope you will seriously consider coming back and
playing at the blues club called Blackeyed Sallys in
Hartford. Would like to hear and
appreciate your music again. Blessings to you!

I recently saw Guy Davis perform at my school
(Brooklyn College. I'm not really big on blues
music, so when I say that Guy was awesome, he really
was awesome. I would encourage anyone who had the
opportunity to see to do just that. It's quite the
experience.

Guy Davis Wins New Fans
I gave my tickets to Guy Davis' Friday night show at
Purdue to a couple of my students because I was
still sick. I was bummed. Today they told me they
hadn't had high expectations but were enthralled by
Davis' eclectic blues style. In fact, one of the
kids said he ordered two of Davis' albums after the
show. I don't feel so bad now because I'm converting
kids into blues fans one fever at a time.

Hello Mr Davis................My wife and I
recently saw your
performance at the Ocean County Library in
Toms River New Jersey
in february. It was
great, I was blown away. There was a song/story you
did only with a harmonica which I thought was great.
I love the blues. It has no barrier. Either you love
it or you don't. Thanks so much for making our
evening so wonderful. I'll be looking to get a cd,
and to see when you will be coming into our area
again. Maybe the House of Blues in
Atlantic City New Jersey.
Good luck.

Hi,
Mr Davis was in Kitimat BC last yr, he sang a
great tune oh food, had the word "gravy in it" what
was that tune called? I luv that tune. That
was a great performance that day, and what a nice
personable person Mr Davis is.

Heard Guy last year at Larz Anderson Park,
Brookline, MA. A fine blues singer at a time when
every one out there is precious. What a voice!
And a very accomplished string musician.
My pretty fair teen guitarist is hoping for
access to sheet music for "Honeydew Melon Rag" and
"Dorothy is Harlem Bound" - and any other
instrumental pieces by Guy we may not yet have
heard. Many of the classic blues Guy covers
can be gotten elsewhere, but those two pieces of his
are instant classics my son would love to learn and
play.

I was lucky enough to see Guy Davis and his
masterful musicians Mark Murphy and Nerak Roth Patterson play a two hour set in
Toms River, NJ this
past
weekend. Guy's music had me grinning ear to
ear during the entire show
until
he performed 'Blues in the Midnight Hour'.
This song, with it's
powerful
melody and heart wrenching lyrics affected me like
no song or artist
ever did.
It made a grown man cry (and I wasn't the only
one...). What an
incredible
performer who transported his audience to a
different time and place
during
that two hour set.
Thank you Guy, Mark and Nerak!

Hello Guy,
Great show in
Pittsburgh on the 13th. I think you

I had the great
pleasure of getting to see Guy perform in Pittsburgh
tonight. I just wanted to let you know that I think
you are an astounding performer and I hope to see
you play again soon. Though I must admit that I was
disappointed in not being able to ever see Robert
Lockwood Jr. play, they couldn't have found a better
replacement for the night. Thanks so much for
blessing everyone with your humour and incredible
musical talents!

Just
wanted to say that it is good to see that the
standards haven't died off - keep the work of the
forebearers of blues alive. I saw you play recently
in Oil City, PA
on New Years Eve - had to leave in the middle of the
show because of my little ones starting to get tired
- from what I sat through, I know I missed an
incredible set! Hope to see you in the area again
soon.

Hello Guy, Interesting
site. I Believe you once met my uncle JP
Cormier at a
folk festival or something and played a few tunes
with him. I Enjoy
your
music, it's a great take on the traditional blues
style, with a bit
extra. Keep up the good work, you're already up there with
the blues legends
on my list. -
