I recently heard Guy along with Ann Rabson and had my socks knocked off! You are so talented and just had my heart singing, feet hopping and at times eyes tearing. I thank you for that unforgettable experience. I am just so sorry I didn't purchase one of your CD's. Any suggestions on where I can locate some?

Thanks and I hope to be able to hear you again very soon.

Hello Guy, my name is Lou Felipe. I'm with JoBonanno and the Godsons of
Soul. We met at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park for the Hungerthon Bruce Fest.
I'm the one that gave you the light so you could read your notes. Just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to take the photo with you. It really was a pleasure and an honor to meet you. I enjoyed your set that night very much and will always remember that I shared the same stage with you on cool night at the shore in Asbury Park. Hope to some day soon see you perform again and to say hello.

Don't ever stop doing what you do. You're great !!

I'll keep that little lamp in my pocket, just in case you need it again. :)

Have a great Holiday Season and take care !!

I would love for you to bless our community by coming to the Sisters Uptown Bookstore located in Harlem to teach the kids about the blues.  Please consider this and give us a call.  I love the blues and think that you do well by it.

Guy loves performing for children, and does whenever he can.  Please coordinate any ideas you have through Guy's manager, Thom Wolke.

I discovered your music for myself years ago when you performed at the Borders in Princeton NJ.  As a recreational musician, there are only one or who musicians out there who I deeply admire,  and you are at the top of the list. Your music strikes certain chords with me that just make me feel great and inspired.  I never get tired of your stories no matter how many times I listen to them. I share your music with everyone that I can with the hope that they'll feel the same way.  I've even converted my wife into a huge fan from me making her listen to your songs every time we get in our car!

Please don't ever stop making music!

Sincerely,
Ryan

Last night I was asked to go to a concert in Huntington, unfortunately had to work.  When I got home at 11:30 last night and asked how the concert was I couldn't hear enough.  So then they showed me the CD.  I instantly recognized you from a children's show my 19 month old daughter watches (Jacks Big Music Show) on Noggin.  My daughter dances to "Shoes" all the time.  We play it on the computer on a regular basis.  I am so sad I missed it. I looked at your schedule and we will try to attend one of the Lincoln Centre shows.  One big question though, are you doing any children shows soon, I would love to attend with my daughter.

Mr. Davis;

What a marathon!  If I hadn't been there to personally experience it, I would not have thought it possible -- your fingers must have screamed! Two HUGE sets -- amazing. Thank you for a wonderful night of FINE blues, growls, pickin' and spinnin' tales.  I couldn't wait to pick up my guitar when we got home.

One moment of note -- I had a full shudder pass though me as you blithely set your cup of hot tea down upon the top of your new CRATE amp!  The floor in the church is pretty live, and with us all stomping...well, I'm in the middle of replacing several tubes and the baffle on a Fender Twin Reverb that had one too many cup (bottles, more likely) set down on top of it -- you know the story!  Anyway, we hope to see you again, soon. If you
ever get to Albuquerque, NM, let me know, we'll make you dinner!

What can I say; I love your music and I love to watch you perform...whenever you played at The Arbutus in Courtenay BC, that was me showing up 2 hours early  to get a front row seat. The Arbutus is gone and I keep checking to see when you'll be back on the island - I need a Guy Davis fix!

I heard Guy on NPR this year, and was an instant fan, as a blues/folk enthusiast, I couldn't believe I hadn't heard of him previously.  I bought Skunk Mellow.  Fonza Curry is an incredible, powerful song. I just discovered Pandora, and Guy was the first station I created, it's awesome.  I hope Guy comes to Colorado, I'll come see him wherever he plays.  I live in Fort Collins, but Denver's a more likely venue, or Boulder

Dear Guy

I was compelled to write this after watching your dad on our Public TV station's broadcast of the
Trans-Siberian Orchestra Christmas Special. I am happy that Linda is still doing such a great job with your web site, and especially this Fan Feedback page.

Your Web tribute to your dad is nothing less than I'd have expected, a son's authentic expression of the love, dignity, and compassion that he instilled in you, and which you so beautifully reflect in your own life.

I am so glad we had time to visit during the Champlain Valley Festival! Has there been any thought
about re-booking last year's Caffe Lena gig?

Travel safely, and be well, dear friend.  You, your mom, and your extended family are all in my thoughts and prayers during this Holiday season.

Peace!  Mary B.

My son and I enjoyed seeing Guy and Nerak Roth Patterson play in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. on 16 November.  What a treat.  Although pretty tired by the end of the night, young Dylan was alert enough to assure me that "Guy Davis and Mr. Patterson" were both better guitar players than dear old dad.  Another myth destroyed. Hooking Bull at the Landing is a powerful song, really well done.  Thanks.

Dear Guy,

Thank you so much for the wonderful songs and talent. I live in Northern Wisconsin and was really excited about attending your concert in Wisconsin Rapids on the 16th. I work as an elementary school counselor and have used your songs at my schools. The kids just beam when they sing about kindness in this world. plans got changed. So I quickly ordered your albums from your website and had to stay home. I am with your audience “in spirit”.

Come back to central Wisconsin soon. I look forward to your music and seeing you in the future.

Take care,
Paul – Rhinelander, WI

Your show in Norwich last week was excellent including your sidesman.
Your guitar playing last year inspired me to take lessons. What a journey
that is. Thank you for taking the time to talk to us after the show. Come
back again soon, what about putting Blues in the Midnight Hour in the set.

Tnx for playing "In the Woods", Lage Vuursche nov. 5th 2006. Great gig w/simple equipment in the house. BUT, YOU BOTH got the audience from their seats!
All the best and see you next time.

Hi Guy, and diligent webmaster

I became a fan when I heard Payday on the radio, here in Portugal. I had to stop the car and listne carefully. From there I bought some of your albums and started listening to Mississippi John Hurt, Frank Stokes, Pink Anderson, etc... So, thanks to open the blues to me... many thanks in fact.

If you ever play in Porugal, you'll have at least me in the audience, and as many friends and family I can drag.

I'd really love to get Payday on sheet music cause it started it all and tone deaf as I am, I can't learn it on my own.

Thanks again

Felipe

Hi Felipe

Thanks for dropping us a line. Just wanted to let you know, we do not have sheet music available yet. But, we are hoping to have it at some pint. Please just keep checking the website.

Thanks for listening

My son and I were both at the Norwich gig. Thank you Nerek for the guitar pick you gave my son, it was very much appreciated. This was the second time we have seen you, we also came to your workshop in Stamford this year both times were fantastic. We both felt Nathan complimented you. Thank you for a really good evening. Are you playing at Stamford again this year?

Regards
Mark & Jake

Guy,

Saw you in Norwich last night and really loved it. However, I'm not sure about having a 2nd guitarist with you. He was very, very good in what he did but I felt he detracted from the overall presentation - his feel as a rhythm player just isn't the same as yours and it just "muddys" the sound, I enjoyed your purely solo pieces much more. Hope you don't mind the observation

Dear Guy, been thinking about your gift of music and song you gave us at lunch Sept. 30 during the Pocahontas Sesquicentennial celebration at the Herron School.  Your music is great but most of all, your beautiful soul shines through it all.  Ossie and Ruby and the good Lord gave a wonderful gift to the world in you.

Thanks for sharing, Regina

I happily confess to having loved the gig at Makor on the 16th.  I got a kick out of hearing Guy dedicate “Run Sinner Run” to me – actually it was a shared dedication, first to his friend Arminda, whom Guy said was a great banjo player.  I didn’t write down the set list but I should have…Here’s what I do remember (they had $3 bottles of Magic Hat #9, just so you know), although they’re not entirely in order:

Limetown
Chocolate Man
Shaky Pudding
Hooking Bull at the Landing (which I think is my new favorite song
Run Sinner RunHighway 61
The button story
Georgia Flood
Joppatowne Intro/Joppatowne
Railroad Story

He might have done Maggie Campbell Blues, too?, but that’s the only one I’m uncertain of.  And the album is at home so I can’t refer to it. His encore was “Let Me Stay Awhile,” which was the very first song I ever heard of his, and I’ve never heard him do it live, so that was great. All that in a one-hour set!  It was a great time.

Scott was pleased to meet Guy, and I was able to introduce my colleague and friend Jessica and her husband John, too.  Jess’ step-dad is now a big fan of Guy’s, since Jess bought him Legacy for Christmas.

Tell Guy thanks again.

Peg
